Mr Mavuso Msimang

Mr Msimang was a leading member of MK high command and from 1969 to 1971 was the secretary to ANC President, OR Tambo. He completed his BSc in Entymology at the University of Zambia, as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of United States International, California. He worked on the UN World Food Programme in both Kenya and Zambia between 1977 and 1984. From 1984 to 1987 he was the Country Director for the World University Service of Canada.

In Post 1994 South Africa, he has had an illustrious career involved in transformation and restructuring of a number of state owned entities.  He was the executive director of the SA Tourism Board as well as the CEO of South African National Parks. He has held many directorships including Grintek, Massmart and Exxaro. Between 2003 and 2007 he was the CEO of the State Information Technology Agency, and in 2007 was appointed the Director General of the Department of Home Affairs.
