South Africa’s economic development imperatives are dependent on the existence of a stable and sustainable energy supply system. It is vital that the public at large is exposed to, and participates in, a discussion of viable and acceptable options that need to be pursued in order to bring about an affordable and environmentally sustainable energy strategy. In a collaboration between the Oliver and Adelaide Tambo Foundation and the Gordon Institute of Business Science, a debate around key questions concerning South Africa and SADC’s energy options will be conducted before an interactive audience consisting of business and political leaders, policy makers, regulators and investors.
