From the 27th of October 2018 to the 26th of October 2019 South Africa celebrates what would have been Tambo’s 101st year. The Tambo Foundation will, therefore, be running a yearlong #TAMBO101 campaign.
Much like introductory courses at university, 101 refers to the very foundation of knowledge, which will form the springboard for future development and success.
The #TAMBO101 campaign was created to encourage South Africans to go back to the basics and embody the Tambo values – integrity, humility, selflessness, collective leadership, honesty, courage, conviction, diplomacy, patriotism, pan-Africanism, and mutual respect – in building a prosperous, values-based society. The campaign highlights the role that the Tambo values play in ensuring a free South Africa, and how critical they remain in safeguarding the freedoms we enjoy today.
In honouring O.R. Tambo and keeping his legacy, we request that each and every South African follow his lead and join us in striving to live our lives in accordance with the Tambo values.
When you live, witness or experience the embodiment of values, tag us on our social media pages (@TamboFoundation).
Long live the spirit of O.R. Tambo, long live!
