The Foundation has invited the Former British MP, Former Secretary of State for Northern Ireland and Wales, author and anti-apartheid activist, Lord Peter Hain, to deliver the 9th Oliver Tambo Memorial Lecture on the topic: South Africa in the World and exploring discussing multinational firms’ complicity in South African corruption, global vaccine apartheid, and Africa’s position in the growing cold war between the USA and China.
The 2021 lecture will be a virtual lecture and Lord Hain and Lwando Xaso will discuss multinational firms’ complicity in South African corruption, global vaccine apartheid, and Africa’s position in the growing cold war between the USA and China, while also tackling the incredible legacy of Oliver Reginald Tambo and his peace-making abilities. Given Lord Hain’s extensive knowledge and experience with anti-apartheid activism; his long public service career; his many authored books; and, most recently, his outspokenness regarding state capture accountability and the UK unfair treatment of South Africa with regards to the COVID-!19 travel ban.
